Project Description

If you’re a football fan – young, old or anywhere in-between – go take a trip to the National Football Museum in Manchester. There you have it: my New Year’s recommendation. You can thank me later!

Trust me, the Football Museum is a great day out for all the family. Where else can you have your photo taken with the Premier League trophy, stare into the eyes of Fulham’s weird Michael Jackson statue, and learn lots of cool stuff about the history of English football (both male and female)? Answer: nowhere!

Sadly, I don’t actually work for the National Football Museum, but every now and again, I get to work with them to deliver fun writing sessions for school groups. Last week, I had the pleasure of working with kids from Cliffe Hill School in Halifax, and St Chad’s and St Malachy’s in Manchester.

What a wonderful time we had! We spent the day talking about football and reading, picking our ultimate football heroes, and writing fantastic first goal stories together. I really do have one of the best jobs in the world!

And I even got to do a little photo-shoot at the end!
